How CarGurus setup usually works

The public CarGurus developer documentation does not list a dealer stock management API for creating and editing listings. Their dealer onboarding language points dealers towards connecting an inventory feed, so TraderWay focuses on producing that feed cleanly.

What the dealer gives CarGurus

The dealer or TraderWay team can provide CarGurus with the protected CSV feed URL from the Feeds & Integrations area. CarGurus can then pull stock from that URL according to their onboarding process.

Does CarGurus have a public dealer listing API? +

CarGurus publishes several developer APIs, but not a public dealer stock CRUD API for creating and editing listings. Dealer inventory setup is handled through feed onboarding.

Do dealers need to download and upload a file every time? +

No. TraderWay exposes a feed URL. The goal is for CarGurus to pull that URL automatically once the feed is registered.

What data is included in the CarGurus feed? +

The feed includes dealer details, stock number, VIN, registration, year, make, model, trim, price, mileage, colour, transmission, fuel, body style, doors, description, photos, vehicle URL and availability.

Can I start free? +
