Dealers often ask whether CarGurus has an API for creating, updating and removing listings in the same way some platforms support direct sync. Publicly, CarGurus documents several developer APIs, but not a public dealer stock CRUD API for listing management.
Public API vs dealer feed
The publicly visible CarGurus developer documentation focuses on areas such as reviews, valuation, dealer stats and related tools. For dealer inventory, the onboarding language points towards connecting an inventory feed.
What this means for dealers
In practice, the dealer should prepare a clean stock feed and provide the URL to CarGurus. Once CarGurus registers the feed, it can ingest stock according to its own process.
How TraderWay supports CarGurus
TraderWay generates a protected CarGurus-ready CSV/XML feed from live dealer stock, including vehicle fields, image URLs and the vehicle detail page URL. The dealer can copy that feed URL from the Feeds & Integrations page.
What if private API access becomes available?
If CarGurus provides private partner access for direct listing management, the integration can be expanded. Until then, a feed-based setup is the honest and practical route for dealers.
