Autotrader Valuations vs TraderWay Valuations: Which Should Dealers Use?

How TraderWay chooses between connected Autotrader valuations and TraderWay Valuations for dealers who need guide values.

Some dealers have Autotrader packages that include valuation access. Others do not advertise on Autotrader, or do not have valuation access in their package. TraderWay is designed to support both situations without making the dealer think about provider routing every time.

When Autotrader valuations are used

If a dealer has Autotrader sync enabled, the connection is healthy and the Autotrader valuation route returns usable values, TraderWay uses that first. This helps avoid unnecessary paid fallback checks when the dealer already has valuation access through Autotrader.

When TraderWay Valuations are used

If Autotrader is not connected, the dealer does not have valuation access, or Autotrader returns no usable valuation values, TraderWay can fall back to TraderWay Valuations if the add-on is enabled.

Why this matters commercially

Dealers want the answer, not another system to manage. Provider-aware routing means TraderWay can use the best available route while still storing the result in one valuation history table. The dealer sees the source, mileage, values, cache status and date in the same place.
