One of the most common friction points when adding a vehicle to a dealership website is the description field. You have uploaded the photos, entered the spec, set the price — and now you are staring at an empty text box wondering how to make this BMW sound different from the last five you wrote about.
The TraderWay AI description workflow
When creating or editing a vehicle in TraderWay, the description section includes a Generate Description button. This triggers the AI to collect the current form data — whatever you have already entered — and send it to the ChatGPT API. You do not need to copy and paste anything or open a separate tool.
What the AI uses
The generator reads up to 20 fields: make, model, derivative, year, colour, fuel type, transmission, body type, mileage, engine size, power output, doors, seats, combined MPG, CO2 emissions, emission class, service history, previous owners, ULEZ compliance and key features. Fields left blank are simply omitted from the description rather than producing awkward gaps in the copy.
What you get
A 3-paragraph UK dealer description appears directly in the description field: an opener about the vehicle and what makes it stand out, a specification and practicality paragraph, and a condition, history and call to action close. It is ready to read, not a raw AI transcript.
Editing and personalising
The generated description is editable like any other text. Add a detail the AI could not know, change a phrase that does not suit your tone, remove a section that does not apply, or accept the whole thing as-is. Most dealers make small adjustments in 30–60 seconds before saving.
Publishing
Save the vehicle and the description goes live on your dealer website. That is the whole workflow — from no description to published copy in under two minutes for most vehicles.
